Update: At this point in time, there are no new ZenPad tablets being released by ASUS. No official statement has been issued about the future of the ZenPad line-up of tablets.

Things are buzzing right now with Asus tablets. Right now the newly announced (and impressive) ZenPad 3S 10 (Z500M) is now up on the Asus Taiwan store at a price of NT $10,990 and shows a shipping date of August 8.
Certainly a shipping date of a week from now is highly surprising to us. There are few images of this tablet on the internet and aside from one unveiling at a Zenfone 3 event, there has been little said about this tablet.
So what about the ZenPad 3S 10 in other markets like the US? Hard to say right now. We are hoping for something in the Fall at the very least. We are confident that it will see a release outside of the Asian market, but the details right now are a bit of a mystery.
Let’s look at the price though. At NT $10,990 it is $349 USD based on todays exchange rates. However we need to dig deeper. If in the US, this tablet will be cheaper. We’ve looked at the other ZenPad tablets and made some comparisons. The US prices can be anywhere from $20 to $40 cheaper! Thus, it’s entirely possible that the ZenPad 3S 10 could be just over $300 USD when it comes to market. For a flagship device with quality build and specs, that’s a great price.
Things are moving forward at a pace faster than we expected. If we hear anything about other markets getting an early crack at the Z500M we will keep you posted. At the very least we expect these to be available on eBay from Taiwan based sellers. Stay tuned for those details!
More to talk about! Asus has just pushed out a new promo video for the newly announced ZenPad 3 8.0 tablet. This video showcases the features and selling points of the Z581KL.
We’ve seen every Asus tablet launch from the very beginning and the ZenPad 3 8.0 lauch has been one of the most interesting. This new tablet has literally showed up out of nowhere!

It doesn’t get more official than this. Asus has just come out with their Zenfone 3 8.0 tablet without so much as a whisper!
A few things make us curious. Is this what we were expecting? Not really. With a model of Z581KL, we were expecting this to be a next generation flagship tablet. Afterall, the ZenPad S 8.0 was “Z580CA” and the “5” being the key here.
However we see a tablet in the ZenPad 3 8.0 that is not quite at the level of say the newly announced ZenPad 3S 10 (Z500KL). So we are a bit confused. Is this ZenPad 3 8.0 going to be the slightly cheaper 8-inch tablet offering from Asus or will there be a ZenPad 3S 8.0 in the near future?
The ZenPad 3 8.0 does have a great display and bigger battery which are welcome for sure. It does not have a finger print sensor or build quality in the same league as the ZenPad 3S 10. If the Z581KL is an update to the original ZenPad 8.0, then certainly this is going to be a great deal for a tablet.

A new Asus tablet has shown up at the FCC and goes by the model P00I. This is a first sighting and remains a mystery at this point.
The timing is curious however. The ZenPad 3 8.0 has not been announced internationally like the ZenPad 3S 10 (Z500M) which was announced in Taiwan during their Zenfone unveiling event. With the Zenfone 3 showing up at the FCC about 8 days ago, we do wonder if a new ZenPad will be unveiled along side the Zenfone 3 during the North America unveiling event. That said, we don’t believe the P001 is destined for such an unveiling.
We do know that the p008 model is associated with the ZenPad 3 8.0 (Z581KL). So the P001 appears to us, to be a new ZenPad Z10 (ZT500KL) which is likely to be a Verizon exclusive just like the ZenPad Z8. So right now, we’re guess this is a 10-inch tablet headed to Verizon.
We do know that Asus was going to launch multiple products at their Zenfone 3 events so they can be more efficient with their marketing expenses. They can use the Zenfone 3 launch events to help market their other new products such as tablets, laptops and 2-in-1 products.

We heard loud and clear about the short supply of ZenPad 10 Audio Dock keyboards from you our visitors. We hope you have found available Mobile Docks to buy in the mean time!
We had previously mentioned the possibility of a “Mobile Dock” which we had few details on. How would it be different if at all from the “Mobile Dock” that was released with the first generation ZenPad 10 tablets. We have news!
Asus now has a product page for the ZenPad 10 Mobile Dock (DK01) on their site.
So don’t be confused. The Asus ZenPad 10 Audio Dock (DA01) is the original keyboard dock with the stereo speakers. The ZenPad 10 Mobile Dock (DK01) does not have the speakers but it has a larger battery onboard. These docks are identical in terms of size, but the weight of the Audio Dock is 455g in comparison to 430g for the Mobile Dock.
ZenPad 10 Mobile Dock (DK01) Specs:
To our eyes, this new dock looks identical to the original. On the inside you’re not getting the speakers and that would be the difference between the two. Price wise, we expect to see the new keyboard dock costing slightly less. We will update with where to buy options as we learn more.
