Intentionally or not, Asus has created one model of ZenPad that is taking the spotlight. There are a number of models, but it would appear that the ZenPad S 8.0 is most desirable and it appears by quite a long shot.
So when we’re talking next generation, it’s not too early. Look at the Zenfone 2 and the number of variants that Asus has announced since that first model only a few months ago. With the ZenPad S 8.0 it’s entirely possible that Asus will put a major focus on their most popular model.
So the price points currently for the 8-inch model is $199 and $299. So if we looked at a 10-inch version, it might be safe to add $100. Thus, a Z500C could be priced at $299 and a Z500CA could be priced at $399. Clearly speculative, but at most it would likely be $100 more. It’s going to need a bigger battery to support the bigger screen.
It’s even possible that a 11-inch or 12-inch model could come. We’ve speculated that there could be a ZenPad Pro model to counter the rumored Apple iPad Pro which is said to be 12-inch in size. So a ZenPad S 8.0 at that 12-inch size? You could add $100 to $150 for that added dimensions. No question it’s not going to be as appealing a price point in terms of advertising, but the fact is it would be far less expensive than other tablets in the same size and features.
