We saw some movement over the past week or so regarding ZenPad tablets being imported into India. Now on the Asus India Facebook page, we see this:

There isn’t any doubt now! Indeed Asus is saying to India that the ZenPad tablets are coming. With the success of the Zenfone in India, there is no doubt that Asus must be hopeful of the same excitement and buzz. In this teaser image, we see a ZenPad 7.0 or ZenPad 8, but looks to be the Z370 model, the 7-inch model.

So with this teaser on the Asus India Facebook page, things should start getting interesting. There should be some type of event for the launching of the ZenPad tablets in India, so we’re expecting/hoping to have news of an event date. Stay tuned!

Also, if you live in India, we would be interested to know what ZenPad you are most interested in buying! See the poll here.

New Asus Microsoft deal may be more than just Office on Asus Android tablets

A new deal reached between Asus and Microsoft now means that Office software can now be pre installed on Asus Android tablets and phones. If you have been wanting MS Office on a ZenPad, that should be coming in the near future. Without getting too technical, this is a patent licensing deal between Asus and Microsoft. The press release goes on to say, “It paves the way for closer integration between the two companies.

Asus have been risk takers in the past when in comes to pushing boundaries and innovation. If you look at what Microsoft is saying about this agreement, it could mean some interesting products and software integration within the Android ecosystem. Sure, most of the press commentary on this agreement has been about Microsoft Offiice on Asus Android devices, but clearly this agreement has more implications.

“This agreement delivers significant value for both companies. Beyond ensuring continued improvements to our products, it opens the door to the kind of collaboration between Microsoft and ASUS made possible only through mutual respect and alignment on intellectual property,” said Nick Psyhogeos, president of Microsoft Technology Licensing LLC.

Another interesting statement from the Microsoft press release:

“The agreement also facilitates technology sharing toward the development of new, innovative product solutions.”

If you love Asus products, this should be exciting news. We could try and speculate on what sort of collaboration might take place or what type of innovative product solutions that they have in mind. We know one thing. Asus aren’t going to hold back on pushing new ideas and product onto the marketplace. With this deal, 2016 should be interesting, especially withe Computex 2016 which is where Asus loves to show off ground breaking ideas and products.

Now in stock – Asus Transformer Book T100HA (Windows 10) – $299 US

As mentioned by Asus a week or two ago, the T100HA indeed is coming. In fact it has arrived! You can pick up this new version of the Transformer Book T100HA for $299 US from the US Asus online store. From what we can see, this is the only place to currently buy it in the US.

If you are familiar with the Android based Transformer Pad from Asus, think of this largely like a Windows version. If you’re interested in a 10-inch Windows tablet that has the ability to become a full fledged laptop computer, this is definitely an affordable option.

With a resolution of 1280 x 800, battery life is a main feature of this 2-in-1. It has 4GB of RAM, 64GB storage (expandable via microSD card reader), along with the Intel Cherry Trail Quad-Core Z8500 processor. There are plenty of ports including USB 2.0, USB Type C Gen 1, micro USB, and micro HDMI. It’s thin and light at 2.28lbs and 0.72-inches thick.

Good news India. Three Asus tablets show up on importer database.

Previously we’ve seen a smaller size shipment listing of tablets headed to India. Today however, we’re seeing a substantial quantity which certainly indicates retail sales. We’re actually seeing three ZenPad tablets listed today, but it’s the Z370CG that we’re seeing in big numbers. The number is 720 units which is right up there with more normal import listings that we’ve seen with laptops and Zenfone models.

  • ZENPAD MODEL: Z370CG-1A031A (P01V) 90NP01V1-M00690

So to recap, the Z370CG is the ZenPad 7.0 and this particular model comes with 3G voice calling capabilities. One of the main selling points of the ZenPad 7.0 is the interchangeable design which lets you easily and quickly swap out the back cover for some interesting Asus accessory covers and cases. The Power Case and the Audio Cover add some real usability to your tablet.

So really, with all the listings we’ve spotted, this is the real first quantity that indicates something coming to retail. We’ve been hoping that seeing more frequent listings means a ZenPad launch in India is near. We believe it’s certainly one step closer. As we’ve heard from many people living in India, when is the ZenPad S 8.0 coming? Great question! We’re watching for any news but so far, nothing has been spotted.

The other two Asus tablets showing up today are not for retail.

  • ASZP10Z300C ASUS 16GB Z300C-A1 ZENPAD 10.1 WI-FI TABLET BLACK) FOR R&D PURPOSE & EVALUTION NOT FOR RETAIL SALE
  • ASZ380CXA2B ASUS 16GB ZENPAD Z380CX-A2 8.0 WI-FI TABLET BLACK WHITE FOR R&D PURPOSE & EVALUTION NOT FOR RETAIL SALE

Did you send us an email and we didn’t reply? Our system has been broken!

Have you sent us an email over the past month or so and not received a response? First, please accept our apologies. Second, there appears to have been an issue with our email system. This means that replies we’ve made to you were returned to us as not deliverable. Typically these messages are because the email you’ve entered into our contact form are incorrect. However, in this unfortunate case, the issue was not with the email address you entered. Thus, messages you’ve sent to us have gone without a response. This is very unfortunate to us because one of our goals is to build a community. When you ask us a question, our goal is to provide a speedy response. Nothing is worse than asking a website a question via a contact form and then getting nothing in return.

Here is another complicating factor. If you sent us an email, chances are your email system (so ATT email addresses for example) may have blocked our IP. In these cases, now that we’re fixed on our end, you are still not going to get a reply. We can’t get it to you.

So, if you did send an email to us recently and we didn’t reply, please send another email and perhaps try using a different email address if possible. So if you have a @att.com email, perhaps use a @gmail.com email address instead. Sorry this is sounding like a hassle! We’ve never seen an issue like this and not being able to properly communicate is a big source of frustration for us.

Moving forward, there should be no issues. We look forward to hearing from you!
