Here is a look at the retail box of the ZenPad C 7.0 (Z170C) for the North American market. The box contents should be the same regardless of what country you’re in and if you’re looking at the variations Z170CG or Z170MG, these will look the same. Most markets are not going to see the ZenPad 7.0 and ZenPad C 7.0 at the same time, and having two 7-inch models to choose from is unlikely for most markets. That said, we have see both 7-inch ZenPad models in certain Asian countries.
First Impressions
Let’s be really clear about one thing. The ZenPad C 7.0 is the budget, even “ultra” budget might be more accurate, tablet of the ZenPad series. This is the $99 USD Android tablet from Asus and is 7-inches. In the US market, we’ve seen it on sale for $89 and is currently being discounted by $5, for a sale price of $94.
The reason the price is important here is because of what Asus promised with the launch of the ZenPad tablets. Luxury for all. Reasonable and affordable prices. Those were key aspects and are keys of the Asus “Zen” branding. We are happy to say that from an exterior perspective, the ZenPad C 7.0 looks quite remarkable.
The chrome trim along the side does help the looks of this tablet and give it a premium look. To the touch, obviously you’re going to feel plastic on the back, but it is textured nicely. Being 7-inches, for our hands at least, it was a good fit and easy to handle during these first impressions and unboxing.
We going to have a full review soon, so please check back with us. The question we hope to answer is about the value in this tablet and is it one of the best, or the best 7-inch Android tablets on the market right now for the price.
