Asus continues to update their flagship tablets. This update is more substantial for the Z580CA, but is covers both models in other ways.
Firmware: V4.6.1.0
Release Notes:
- Improve the stability of Email App
- Enhance the compatibility with third-party apps
- (applies only to Z580CA) – Added “Movie Mode” in Blur-Free Motion Settings. When playing movies, adjust the picture for a cinematic viewing experience.
Regarding points 1 and 2, these seem a bit generic in nature, but should help out with some possible stability issues with some third-party apps. The bigger update is the the Tru2Life+ on the Z580CA setting. The “Movie Mode” sounds interesting. With the robust nature of Tru2Life+ and the fact that it’s a new enhancement, Asus has done a fair amount of tweaking since the tablets release. More control in the hands of the user is always a good thing.

Purchased Zenpad s 8.0 Z580CA on Dec 17,2015. It received new Firmware WW-4.6.1. beginning January and ran great through to Mid May 2016 when firmware update ww-4.7.1. installed. Within 2 days started having problems. Freezing, grid pattern on screen etc. Finally had to do factory reset, which worked ok for day and then got worse. Did a few factory resets with same problems occuring and then I did a shut down (power button) and it went into boot loop on next startup and will not load OS since – ASUS start screen only. Can get into Recovery but no success reflashing firmware to tablet. Repeated message it can’t mount internal storage or ext. sdcard. Help please or suggestions?
