This apparently just rolled out yesterday, so you may be receiving a software update notification. Right now we’re looking for notes about the update, and all we have right now is the notes from the Japan version of this update. It’s best to look at the notes related to your exact device.
I think anytime there is a software update, the user experience is bound to improve. Of course that’s why updates are made in the first place, but these updates tend to affect things that you’re going to notice. It’s not just background tweaks and fixes. We’re excited to list the updates from this latest firmware update as soon as those details are posted by Asus. In general, there is a day or two before we know the exact details of the update.
In terms up these updates, expect them to be top heavy. The early updates will be substantial, followed by more minor tweaks in the future. I think it’s referred to as working out the kinks. When the tablet is released into the public, certain issues come to light.
Update: Here are the official details.

In the Zenpad 10 they fixed the GPS not working after encrypting the tablet. 😉
My new Zenpad S8 is installing all my stuff and still didn’t have time to check the new firmware.
The latest firmware still has an encryption issue.
My ZenPad 8.0 S does not properly boot after encryption (boots just fine w/o it, but I need encryption for work).
Hope that issue will be fixed in the next update…
News is the new 580C/CA won’t get a update to 6.0. Is this true? Why would such a fairly new Asus not get Marshmallow? I ordered mine counting on the 6.0 update.
i heard the same. i checked on several websites. so far they confirming that zenpad s 8.0 wont get the update. it is so unfair. its only released in several months ago..come on asus..i will be so disappointed if its true.
